Ane Osiobe International Foundation, affirms that cultural responsiveness is an integral part of personal and professional competence. We are committed to embracing the diversity of peoples' differences and we believe that cultural competence is fundamental to providing quality services that promote the cause we stand for.
We understand that cultural diversification requires an ongoing commitment to openness and willingness to learn. Therefore, we remain on the journey to achieve cultural integration by developing an awareness of our own cultural worldview, increasing our knowledge and understanding of different cultural practices and worldviews, and researching and integrating culturally responsive evidence-based practices into our work.
Through our study of culture and diverse populations we are continuously learning how our cultural worldview impacts our perceptions and actions. This learning process assists us in being able to work effectively with those different from ourselves and allows us to acquire and attend to a more holistic understanding of our clients, sponsors, staff, and students.
We strive to cultivate an environment where diversity is considered an asset and is valued and respected; an environment that cultivates a belief in which alliances across cultures and beliefs are enriching, rather than threatening, to shared goals. We challenge ourselves and challenge our community to remain committed to confronting prejudice, discrimination, oppression, and facilitate healing in our lives, and in the lives of those around us.
